Violinist Alexandra Preucil enjoys a diverse career of orchestral and chamber music performances. Former Assistant Concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra, Ms. Preucil currently lives in Vienna, Austria, leading and collaborating with ensembles around the world. Dedicated to music education, she has created and performed many community education programs and used her ballet background to serve as Artistic Advisor to the Cleveland Ballet.
Chamber music and festival highlights include the Mainly Mozart Festival in California, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Britt Festival in Oregon, Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival, Festival der Zukunft in Switzerland, Music From Angel Fire in New Mexico, Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival, Festival de Febrero in Mexico, and the Aspen Music Festival.
Ms. Preucil graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music with a bachelor’s degree in music performance and a minor in dance. While in school, she held the position of Assistant Concertmaster with both the Akron and Canton Symphony Orchestras. As a member of the award-winning Svanito Quartet, Ms. Preucil studied with members of the Cleveland Quartet, Takacs Quartet, and Cavani Quartet.
Ms. Preucil plays on a 1744 Sanctus Serafin.
